I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but I couldn't find a contact email so I figured the forum would be the next logical step.
My name is Rich (could be confusing I know...), I'm from the UK and I've been mapping for BSP-based games since Quake. I've been looking for an excuse to get back into mapping and this mod caught my eye. I really enjoyed Master Sword for the original HL, so any fantasy RPG mod for HL2 definitely gets my vote. The most important aspect of the mod though is the fact that it's active. I have been on several modding teams for HL and HL2 before and they always trickle and eventually grind to a halt. I'm pretty sure it's just bad luck and nothing to do with me. Pretty sure. I'm hoping Bloodstone has a realistic chance of eventual release!
Anyway, I was wondering if you would consider taking on an extra mapper. Obviously you will want to see some examples of my prior work but unfortunately I have none to show yet, partly because I discarded old stuff as my mapping ability improved, and partly because my previous laptop died and I was forced to buy a new one (losing everything in the process). However, if you're interested in the *possibility* of another mapper, I will be happy to knock up a demo map so you can see if I meet the requirements. I just wanted to know if there was a point in creating a demo map before I started.
thank you very much for offering your help to us. Unfortunatley I have to tell you, that the fact of us doing this mod as our final-year project at Uni puts us into a position where we can only in rare and special cases add team members. Meaning, if we were to add members to our team at all, they would be either artists or composers/sound engineers but you will find more on this soon on ModDB.
I hope, you will find a great mod to work on anyways.
Thanks for replying. No worries, I'm also in my final year (at Nottingham), so I can appreciate your situation and the strict rules regarding outside help. I shall continue to watch this mod with interest and good luck with your final year of uni!
